I know looks crooked, but the back shore keeps coming closer and closer towards the right side...

@Yair: Thanks Yair... the view is from the terace of a lovely restaurant... Not the best composition, but I was very limited regarding the composition You should visit this place, since it's gorgeous!

franz from Baden, Austria

wow, great view of a place i know well!
have you hiked the path that leads out of the picture to the right, on the far side of the lake? it's great and offers superb views ...

30 Apr 2013 7:48am

@franz: On the right side? I see one on the left side, right before the wooded area begins, but I don't see one on the right side. I been in this town 3 times already, since it's conveniently located somehow, and even spent the night twice, but did not stay long enough to explore much the hiking trails. As usual, when I visit your country, I like to visit too many places, and don't get to see much of each...not a good habit of mine...but I can't help it. :) I think Stefan (interceptor) used to have several images overseeing the lake from that side of the lake, and I was wondering where exactly were those trails that he hiked to get those nice views. I look at the map right now and see several trails going up, but probably most are too steep for me. :) I see one on the right too (on the map), which goes behind the first tall hill, probably you refer to that one... Is good to know for next time I'll go there.. Thanks Franz

franz from Baden, Austria

the path that i mean runs parallel to the lake shore and is not difficult at all! do try it next time ... ;-)

30 Apr 2013 8:26pm

@franz: oh, I see...now I understand, and I see it on the map too! I hiked this other side of the lake, near the water, cause I wanted to see the town from across the lake, plus I didn't know the other side is accessible, but next time it will that side, plus some trails that go up for a more panoramic view. It usually takes me several visits to end up seeing all the right places. A good reason to have to return :)

Judy aka L@dybug from Brooksville, FL, United States

No, Maria, it doesn't look crooked. All one has to do is look at the buildings' verticals in the center of the image to tell that this is perfectly straight, and WONDERFULLY inviting!

@Judy aka L@dybug: Thank you Judy

DarkElf from Perth, Australia

wonderful and bright landscape! the colours and the detail of the village are superb - there are some many things to find in this scenery... this not unlike the Swiss Alps around Walensee and Flumserberg that I visited last year... beautiful part of the World!

1 May 2013 2:26am

@DarkElf: That entire area of the Alps is gorgeous, whether is Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, etc... I never get tired of it....I visited every year for the last 3 years and am going there again in a couple of months...and hopefully, for many years to come. Thanks for your visit, comment...and vote!

Stunning scenery, breathtaking, and so sharp, contrasty, and clear. A magnificent photograph, the uprights are vertical, so I know how you easily get concerned about the false horizon line.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

It looks like such an inviting location! All nestled among tall mountains and close to the lake! It is so sharp that I can see some smoke curling up.....VERY GOOD! (I assume you already know it!)
